Our Beginning

In the 1700s, the people of France were divided into three classes: the nobility, the clergy, and everyone else. That catch-all "everyone else" category was called the third estate, and it was this diverse group of common folk that started and carried out the promise of the French Revolution.

Third Estate Art picks up on that tradition of revolution by the people, for the people, and aims to create public-facing art projects that address urgent social issues and push for change.

We began in a Rogers Park apartment in February of 2018. If you'd like to join us, please drop us a line. We have regular planning meetings for projects, as well as lots of smaller volunteer opportunities.
